In 2007, the Atlanta A's settled in and proved themselves to be on of the toughest teams to beat in the Atlanta MABL. At the draft, the A's picked up Blake Kelley and David Link to complete the 2007 Atlanta A's Roster. After thier traditional season opener loss, the Atlanta A's went on to win 14 games while only losing 3 more and ending the season with a 14 - 4 regular season record. Along the way we added the 2001 12th Round pick for the New York Yankees, Adam Wheeler and acquired Roy Irle from the independent league.    Tied for first place in the most competitive division in the Atlanta MABL American league , the Atlanta A’s settled for a first day bye and continued through the playoffs to the Championship Series.  The Atlanta A’s gave the series away committing more errors than runs to the Generals and finished the 2007 season as League Runner-Up.

Record: 14 - 4
Playoffs: Lost in Championship series to the Atlanta Generals

Highlights / Bloopers:

  • The The A’s made it to the 2007 Atlanta MABL American League Championship.
  • Mid-way through the season the Atlanta A’s acquired Roy Irle who became the most dominating  (dominating what? - pitcher?) in the Atlanta MABL American League , averaging strikeouts in the double digits and allowing only one runner past second base during the regular season.
  • Probably one of the most memorable events of 2007 was Adam Wheeler’s first career home run  which  clear ed  the centerfield fence striking an unsuspecting spectator as he sold concessions out of the back of his van.
  • Twice this season time was called due to near brawls at the soccer matches that were help beind the baseball field.
  • Zane Miller was once again asked to manage a team for the 2007 All-Star Game, bringing his record to 2-0.
