2003 Saturday Cubs


Mike Haisten became the manager of the team after the MSBL Player Pool was divided in half to form two additional teams to the Saturday League.  These two teams went on to become the two best teams in the league. The only remaining members from this team are Mike Haisten, Keyan Shod, Brian Brigance, and Zane Miller

Record: 10 - 5
Playoffs: Lost in semi-finals to Royals

Highlights / Bloopers:

• Zane Miller hitting the go-head home run and then the save on the mound in his first game as a Cub
• Will Peavley hitting a foul ball to break the field’s water pipe and flooding the field
• Christian Del’Anue hitting a batter in the head while trying to throw it back to the pitcher from behind the plate
• Finishing 2nd place in the regular season behind the Royals
• A 14 inning opening game in the Playoffs against the Red Sox
• Less than 3 hours later the second round game against the eventual Champions the Royals
• The ever so delicate Heather Brigance setting off a bench clearing scuffle after “explaining” to the girlfriend of a Red Sox that she needed to stop yelling at our players.
