2005 Atlanta A's
divider_bar

The team decided to part ways with the name Cubs and selected a new one…The Atlanta A’s.  With the new name came a new image, nicer uniforms, better ball players, and a better season.  We started off slow by losing the first six games!  With the return of Zane Miller and the additions of Junior Fragoso and former Georgia Tech pitcher Phillip Perry (Phil) we were able to turn it around and won eight in a row.  Everyone was fully aware of the revived Atlanta A’s.

Record: 11 - 8
Playoffs: Lost in third round by eventual league champions, Cougars

Highlights / Bloopers:

  • Phil Perry became one of the most dominant pitchers in the league
  • Nick Gorman & Reggie Bickham competing in their own Home Run Derby during a playoff game
  • Taking the Cougars to the rubber match of the three game series despite only having eight players the first game and ten players the second game.
